Global Competence

We wholeheartedly agree with our friend, Dr. Fernando Reimers of Harvard who explained that

“Globalization is deeply transforming the context of the lives of people around the world.  Those who are educated to understand those transformations and how to turn them into sources of competitive advantage are likely to benefit from globalization; but those who are not will face real and growing challenges.”

Indeed, he concluded in this article that developing global citizenship is critical to successfully educating for the Fourth Industrial Revolution: “Global citizenship is essential for seizing the enormous possibilities and addressing the great challenges of our times.”

Class #1

Global Competence via Virtual Exchange:  Global Connections

This class is our most popular class as it is the easiest to use and the most fun to do. Put simply we connect your K12 classrooms to other classrooms around your country or the world.  The end goal is to expand your students’ horizons as we bring students and educators together to learn with and from one another.  We have developed several curricula to facilitate these conversations.

Class #2

One World Youth Clubs

In this class, we continue to build global competence by introducing a series of character education and service-learning classes to compliment the virtual exchange already being offered building on our student-centered pedagogy where we continue to foster the development of the so-called “4 Cs” of 21st Century skills: Communication, Collaboration, Creativity and Critical Thinking.

Class #3

Global Competence via Climate Change Education, via Sustainability

We have developed a robust, action-oriented, sustainability curriculum that is designed to engage your students and faculty in the fight against climate change.  We also make full use of our global learning platform to help students to build the global competence skills they will need to solve the climate challenge.
